When should you first see an Orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children should see an Orthodontist for the first time around 7 years old. Some problems if identified and corrected early can minimize the amount of orthodontic treatment needed in the future. Some problems left uncorrected early on can eventually lead to the need for extraction of permanent teeth or even jaw surgery that may not have been necessary. See our section on Early Treatment.
What about adult orthodontic treatment?
Approximately 25% of our patients are adults. Today braces have become smaller, less noticeable, and more convenient. We even offer clear braces at no additional charge. Invisalign® (a new technology that allows us to straighten teeth without wires or braces) has become a wonderful option for many of our adult patients. Come find out why its never too late to get straight (teeth that is).
