Did you skip the awkward braces-wearing phase in your teens but now want a perfect smile? If so, you’re not alone. It is estimated that over one in three people are now trying to improve their smile as an adult with Invisalign ® aligners.

Thanks to modern technology, straightening your teeth as an adult has never been easier, pain-free, and invisible. It’s all thanks to the proprietary materials found in Invisalign® aligners.

Guymon Orthodontics has been helping patients young and old in Boise, Idaho achieve straighter teeth with Invisalign® for years, and we can help you too!

Aren’t Invisalign ® More Expensive Than Traditional Braces?

Actually, no. If you look at trusted sites online, you’ll see that the cost for Invisalign® versus other more traditional braces options is comparable.

According to Healthline, traditional metal braces can run anywhere from $3,000 to $7,500. Compare that with the price for Invisalign®, and you’ll see a similar price range of $3,000 to $7,000.

Additionally, when you include insurance coverage, they also average out to the same costs after insurance between $1,500 and $3,500.

So, Invisalign isn’t more expensive than traditional metal braces. In fact, in most cases, they may be a bit less expensive.

Okay, But Are They As Effective as Traditional Braces?

Not only is Invisalign® as effective as traditional braces, in some cases, but they are also more effective than traditional braces. For example, one study found that Invisalign braces worked faster to straighten teeth in 30% of cases surveyed.

According to Invisalign®, in some cases, patients can straighten their teeth in as little as six months! While that isn’t representative of all cases, it is a surprising statistic compared to traditional braces, which take upwards of two years.

Yeah, But Can They Handle My Situation?

Well, let’s see, if you have any of the following issues, Invisalign® has been proven to be effective in treatment:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Gap teeth
  • Open bite
  • Crowded teeth
  • Baby and permanent teeth
  • Generally straighter teeth

In most people, Invisalign® is a suitable course for treatment to straighten teeth.

Okay, But What’s the Difference?

We’re glad you asked. Here are just a few of the benefits of using Invisalign® to straighten your teeth:

  • They can be taken out for meals
  • They are personalized to fit your mouth
  • They allow you to eat the foods you want
  • They are more discreet than regular braces
  • They are more comfortable than traditional braces

With all of these benefits, a comparable price, and in some cases, a faster solution to straightening your teeth, what’s not to love about Invisalign®?

This Sounds Great, But What’s The Process Like?

Invisalign® aligners are customized to your mouth. It’s all part of their 3-D imaging that allows us to get a 360° view of your mouth. These 3-D images are then shipped off to Invisalign®, who will create a personalized set of aligners to help you straighten your teeth over time.

Your aligners can take up to two weeks to come in, but you are set for the rest of your treatment once they are created.

Your aligners will be made of clear plastic that will be virtually invisible to your friends, family, and colleagues. Your aligners or trays, as they are sometimes called, are worn for two weeks and then switched out for a new aligner.

Unlike traditional braces, you won’t have to come to the orthodontist every time you need an adjustment to your braces. Instead, the clear aligners will do the adjusting for you. That will save you time and money on visits.

You’ll only come to our office for a visit every six to eight weeks. You’ll find the process:

  • Simple and effective
  • Easy to understand and implement
  • Respectful of your time and your lifestyle

Unlike traditional braces that remain in your mouth 24 hours a day, Invisalign® aligners only require you to have them in 22 hours a day. That means you can remove them throughout the day for comfort, eating, or other activities where it may not make sense to wear your aligners.

The entire process can take anywhere from six months to eighteen months. Meanwhile, you’ll be straightening your teeth without the need for uncomfortable metal wires that are tragically visible to your friends, family, and colleagues.
